September 13: Beers in the Driveway

To the definition of unconditional love …

We don’t believe in regular office hours, and we don’t categorize time as intrusive or okay.  We don’t put away leftovers until everyones come through, and we don’t let the door lock too early. We don’t always understand, and we don’t ever see the other side of the story. We don’t tone down the obscurities, and we don’t expect a call in return. We are family because it’s doesn’t make sense how we’re related, and we are family because we would never survive apart.

September 10: The Old Fresh Air

To the childhood vacation spot…

Fish still get released; Bruises still get healed; Friends still change their names; Burns still get tan; Happy hour still makes the perfect tipsy; S’mores still melt by fire; Laughs still make peace; and blood still makes family. Yeah, it looks the same, and yeah, it feels the same too- like back in time when are young all over again. But, you are not the same, dancing memories with reality and coming up with this really fun tango. each new year brings the same old air.
