August 31: The World Goes On, But Me, I’m Just Okay

To the widowed stranger…

As we boarded the plane that evening, He complimented my eyes, glossy and blue.  We couldn’t be more different in demographics, but peering up from their own Personal backstory, my eyes seemed oddly familiar to his own. It had been 8 months since his wife passed, and tonight, we met in the clouds. I imagine her silent words keeping his spirits just high enough to fly another day, and I presume he gained some peace in the darkness as they became touchably close and no longer alone. I refocus on my shakey wine glass in fear of the stain. turbulence doesn’t always come with a warning, and red wine doesn’t always come out.

August 30: Wigs Only Change Your Hair

To the young mom…

She was the queen b of bad girl knowledge who became a mom and never looked back. Drinks for diapers; friends for family; she exchanged her chase for happiness with a fragile life that saved her own. She was always there. Her movie just needed a plot twist, and gained a guest star along the way.

August 29: Chips, scratches and miles. That’s what cool about an old car; it’s seen so much

To the automobile wizard…

In a 1960’s Mercedes Benz found on Craigslist and fixed in free-time, the passion is undeniable and refreshing. Cruising in ideal temperature, dreams of owning a vintage automobile shop overpower the sounds of the engine. There is a breeze coming in from the extended passenger window, and a freeing silence due to the lack of technology. No connections to the outside, no cords from ‘this to that’; just silent movement and high class simplicity. Old cars are determined to stay advanced in these priorities, forgetting flashy distractions and teaching this modern era why the term joy ride was coined so many years ago.

August 28: A Simple Snap

To the image that stops time…

A stimulation of emotion and a sense of progression reminding you of what was going on behind the lens as you said ‘cheese’ on three. Photos enable this physical memory and elicit our minds to create strong judgements, invested observations, and confident assumptions about the focus. These moments flash at every exciting step on our journey and are not missed in the times we are happy to forget. How can something or someone we don’t even know become so seemingly transparent through a simple photo, whether or not it be true? To me, it’s one of life’s Most beautiful mysteries.

August 27: Nature’s Strongest Current

To the person with a contagious shine…

There is this effortless baseline of the most simple happy. With low tide being the rarest wave, it’s the occasional high tide that floods the shores, capturing every grain of sand and blowing A sweet breeze that spreads for miles. There is this unfazed, whole hearted heat wave that cruises Highway 101 with the windows down and 79 degrees on the temp. No traffic can diminish this feeling as you wave to all the people you pass with no expectation of a smile in return. With a heart that is pumped with Only the strongest form of pure, it’s the unsaid words that make people feel the untouchable joy by the ocean.
